About the IWA
The IWA (Island Wrestling Alliance) is a professional wrestling promotion based out of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The promotion made it's return in 2011.
The IWA was formerly known as the ICW (Island Championship Wrestling) from 2001 to 2006. In 2007 the promotion was renamed the Island Wrestling Alliance.
The IWA tapes a weekly show "Wednesday's IWA Slam! Zone" that is featured on it's website in it's "IWA TV" section, airing every Wednesday night at 7 pm Atlantic. Once a month the IWA presents a Super Card which usually features championship title matches and matches that draw more excitement then you would normally see during their weekly shows. Each of these Super Cards are available on DVD and feature the IWA's weekly shows as a bonus feature.
The IWA operates the IWA Wrestling School as well. It is used to train potential wrestlers that may become talent on their roster.
The IWA has numerous championship titles. The most prestigious title in the promotion is the IWA Championship. It is held by the IWA's heavyweight champion. The IWA Island Championship is the second biggest singles championship available in the IWA. The IWA also has a Tag-Team Championship which is awarded to the tag-team heavyweight champions.
The IWA prides itself on bringing exciting, fast paced wrestling entertainment to all of their events which proves to be fun for all ages!
